Ayden Reno, 16-Year-Old Grenada High School Student and Chargers Football Player, Found Dead in Grenada, MS

Ayden Reno, a 16-year-old junior at Grenada High School, was tragically found deceased on Monday night, September 22, 2025, in Grenada, Mississippi. Authorities discovered Ayden’s body in a brushy area near Honeytown Park, located on the 700 block of Leigh Avenue, at approximately 11:41 p.m.

Grenada County Coroner, Douglas "Little Bobby" Yates, pronounced Ayden dead at 12:25 a.m. on Tuesday. The cause of death has not been confirmed, though a report of gunshots was received earlier that evening. The case remains under active investigation, with authorities requesting anyone with information to come forward.

Ayden was a defensive back for the Grenada High School Chargers football team, where they wore the number 27. Additionally, Ayden was a member of the school’s Visions show choir. The sudden loss has left the school community devastated.

“The Grenada School District is heartbroken to share the loss of one of our beloved students,” the district stated. “Counselors have been made available to students and staff to provide support during this difficult time.”

Kirk Academy, a local private school, also expressed their condolences, saying, "Our hearts go out to the GHS family as they mourn the loss of a student. We are lifting the entire school, their classmates, teachers, friends, and loved ones in our prayers during this difficult time."

Details regarding memorial services will be announced in the near future, as Ayden’s family navigates this tragic loss.
